There's much to see here as well as the obvious historic railway. Blue anchor beach offers lovely walks and is dog friendly all year round. The Smugglers Inn public house and restaurant is a short walk along the seafront. You also have the Driftwood Cafe just round the corner from the carriage for drinks and snacks.
All these places are along the railway line from Blue Anchor. Nearby Watchett has a harbour, a lovely range of local shops to browse as well as the Boat Museum. With pubs, restaurants and a boat museum. Dunster has it's famous Dunster Castle as well as shops, pubs, places to eat and Dunster Beach.
MInehead is a lovely seaside town, with shops, arcades, beaches, places to eat and plenty of things to do. In Minehead there is the Butlins holiday resort, day passes can purchased to use the funfair. Washford is another place to visit here you can find the Somerset and Dorset Railway Museum, and Cleeve Abbey.
